Release was recently on display at the @the_art_collective_gallery in the Transcendent exhibit. It’s a mixed-media piece incorporating pen on canvas and Rowlux film. I loved using this dark, color-shifting material to represent the mystery of the unknown and giving the viewer a small window into that space. The window is cut through canvas where I’ve made repetitive marks that represent going through the motions and how mundane the day-to-day can be. I invite others to break away from your normal patterns and release the fears that can come along with change.
